Friday on my mind - Friday 31st July

This Friday night had been on my mind for a long time.
Ros, a great work colleague, had suggested doing the Green Sail Sunset Mai Tai cruise off Waikiki Beach on a Friday night, as there would be fireworks to enhance an already great experience.
Ros and I had shared enough travel stories for me to know that listening to her would be the right thing to do, so I did.
But that was going to happen after 7pm.
There was still a full day to go before then.

We decided to do a day trip around the south eastern corner of Oahu.
Here are some photos we took along the coast.

Oh looky here. a BMW X6.
Butt ugly in Bacelona, pig ugly in Pisa, hideously ugly in Hiroshima,
terribly ugly in Tangiers AND horrendous here in Honolulu.
BMW, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!?!

..... and Tiz and I :-)

Friday night approached and with great anticipation we headed down to the beach.
As planned we caught with Ros and Det on the beach, before boarding.

Here was our transport for the evening .....

..... about to unload one bunch of Mai Tai swilling drunks  and take on a fresh, hopefully less drunk, lot.

We took a lot of photos with our phone cameras but most turned out to be unusable.
A few were OK ....

This photo is not that clear,
which matches what my brain was like after four mai tai's

The picture above is not the most in focus shot
but the story attached to it is very funny.
These three kids are in a band and they are on the cruise celebrating one of their birthdays.
They ask Greg if he can use one of their phones to take a photo.
Greg being helpful says "Yes, of course."
As he is setting up the shot, out at sea and without any light he says
"It's all dark."
The three kids start to laugh and respond "Yes. We're black!"
Greg, "Oh!"
A good laugh for all.

We finished the night off by going to another of Ros' suggestions - a great little Japanese restaurant called Jinroku.
The guy in the background was our very entertaining waiter.

Great piece of arts, at Jinroku.

  1. Love the night catamaran cruise. Yes all X6's should be burned. They are they antithesis of BMW
